Iñigo Ramilo

Iñigo Ramilo is a partner in the Commercial Law Department at Ventura Garcés.  He previously worked for two years in the commercial law department at De Cambra Abogados, where he worked on cases involving both commercial civil litigation and Intellectual Property, along with other associated matters. Prior to that he spent 30 years as a lawyer at Garrigues Abogados, 18 of them as a partner. He worked in the firm’s Litigation Department, first in Madrid and then subsequently as Managing Partner in the same department at the Barcelona office.

Earlier, Iñigo was engaged in 1987 by the ERT Industrial group (Unión de Explosivos Riotinto) to head up the Legal Services Department at its SITECSA subsidiary, after three years working with the Ramón Hermosilla legal firm.

Iñigo specialises in advising high-turnover Spanish and multinational businesses, including listed companies, and he has formed part of multidisciplinary teams in some of the most important litigation actions of the day. He also has specialist experience in the areas of Contracting, Intellectual Property and Arbitration, as well as in finance-related criminal cases.

He has worked on insolvency cases involving corporate retail groups and companies in the real estate sector in Madrid, Valencia and other cities.

Iñigo has contributed to many professional publications, some of them collective works published by the firms at which he has worked, such as Responsabilidad de consejeros y altos cargos de sociedades de capital [The liability of directors and senior executives of capital companies] (Garrigues 1996), and the collective work Comentarios a la Ley de Enjuiciamiento Civil [Observations on the Civil Procedure Act] (Lex Nova 2000). In 2008 and 2009 he also contributed to the Anuario Contencioso para Abogados [Annual Casebook for Lawyers] published by LA LEY.
